Short Description


Code all diagnoses and procedures documented in the medical record for the current encounter utilizing: ICD-10-CM, CPT or HCPCIS codes


Adhere to compliance regulations set by government, state, & the Cooper University Healthcare to ensure guidelines are met.


Code and Abstract each encounter into Cooper’s Electronic Health Record (EHR) and Financial system: ensure dates of services are correct, discharge disposition, and admission source/type


Ensure productivity and quality standards are met based on type of encounter


Ensure the proper calculation APCs for outpatient encounters


Enter necessary charges for services rendered into financial system
