Summary:
Walker Solutions (Walker Therapeutic & Educational Programs’ consulting and innovation hub) seeks an experienced, Independently Licensed social worker or mental health clinician to serve as the Clinical Supervisor for a new initiative - the Wellness Coach Project. This Project will recruit, train, and place a diverse cohort of young adults to serve as Wellness Coaches in schools and youth-serving organizations to provide evidence-based skill-building supports to middle and high school students facing behavioral health challenges, such as anxiety, depression, and social isolation / loneliness. This Project responds to rising youth behavioral health needs, while also seeking to expand and diversify the behavioral health field.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Oversee the match between Coach trainees and students receiving coaching
- Provide ongoing supervision to 15 Wellness Coach Trainees placed in middle schools and high school - including weekly individual supervision and bimonthly group supervision
- Co-teach a weekly seminar to develop coaches understanding and use of evidence based skill-building interventions (e.g. SEL, CBT, mindfulness/meditation, case management, etc.)
- Participate in the hiring of wellness coaches.
- Provide counseling/support to Wellness Coach trainees
- Attend bimonthly meetings (or as needed) with partner school and community sites hosting Wellness Coach trainees
- Attend weekly meetings with the Project Team to plan and problem-solve as needed
- Manage and monitor data collection by Wellness Coaches and to track and assess the effectiveness of coaching activities
Education and Licensure Required:
- Master-level Degree: MSW, MS, MA (e.g., counseling, psychology, mental health counseling, and family therapy).
Experience:
- Experience working with children and adolescents with behavioral health needs and their families.
- Experience with strength-based assessment
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team structure.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience gathering and analyzing data
- Demonstrated creativity, cultural curiosity, and flexibility in responding to various family, home, and community environments.
- Experience supervising clinical staff and/or interns preferred.
Skills and Abilities:
Proficiency in the use of computer systems for information management
Excellent oral and written communication skills
