General Description of Position:

To successfully take multiple parts, nest them and cut them on a CNC Router with the best yield, so production can run smoothly and efficiently.

Duties: Position will be accountable for the following:

· KOMO Router – (Cuts all sheets goods) Put patterns into system which includes part files from engineers or digitized parts. Correctly layer the parts with the correct tool operation, including types of cuts and depth of cuts. Make tool paths. Be able to modify part geometry for the CAM software Router Cim. Make a nest (place as many parts on one sheet) Upload code for the operators

· ZUND Router – (Cuts all rolled fiber glass goods) Put patterns into system which includes part files from engineers or digitized parts. Correctly layer the parts with the correct tool operation. Be able to modify part geometry for the CAM software ZUND Cut Editor.

· Eastman Router – (Cuts all rolled vinyl goods) Put patterns into system which includes part files from engineers or digitized parts. Correctly layer the parts with the correct tool operation. Be able to modify part geometry for the CAM software Eastman Cutter.

· Use AutoCad to make 2D part files for the machines.

· Troubleshoot errors within the program or with in the geometry of the part.

· Digitize patterns that have been traced and put the system

· Maintain the existing file structure and stay organized.

· Responsible for all CNC routers for all departments, for all the boats within the facility.

· Canon plotter – Print Drawing or parts 1 to1 for mockups.

· Know and comply with company policies.

· Ensure timely and accurate completion of all areas of responsibility.

· Support Engineering Action Requests with Sustainment Engineering team members under supervision of the developing engineering manager.

· Thoroughly review and inspect programs so material is not wasted.

· Communicate all material usages to BOM to ensure material is billed correctly.

· Any other duties that may arise.

Vendor Representatives – as needed to assist with router software issues.

Organization/Individuals inside of Aviara to whom there is regular contact:

SPF Supervisor – as needed for issues they may have.

CNC Operator – as needed to support issues they might have with programs.

Engineers – as needed to support procurement of new and updated parts/materials.

Education & Work Experience:

· High school degree, Associates degree in related field is preferred.

· 1-3 years of experience in CNC programing or machining.

· Strong background in computer aided design is preferred.

· Committed to quality and standards that are accepted by societies and industry.

· Must interface well with other employees and the public and be a team player.

· Working knowledge of PC based software (Word, Excel, M.S. Project, etc.)

Environmental/Working Conditions:

Works in both office and plant environment. Office environment has controlled temperature, humidity, and noise levels. Plant environment varies with outside temperature and noise levels vary in different production areas. Effective near vision or near vision accommodation is required. Talking and hearing are required. Minimal bending, stooping, walking, and stair climbing are required as is lifting items of moderate weight. Aviara quality standards and safety rules and regulations are mandatory.
