Job Description
Description:

We are seeking an experienced CNC Mill Operator to join our team! The CNC Mill Operator will be responsible for operating computer numerical control (CNC) machines, loading and unloading materials, and inspecting finished products. The successful candidate will have an understanding of machining operations, tool use, and maintenance, as well as the ability to read and interpret blueprints and perform basic shop math.

Full-time openings!

Day Shift: Monday - Friday from 6am to 2:30pm

Second Shift: Monday - Friday from 3pm to 11:30pm

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Maintains logs and records of units produced including a record of errors resulting in rejected or discarded pieces.
  • Checks finished parts with precision tools to ensure compliance to specifications.
  • Inspects equipment prior to use to ensure proper setup and alignment; performs basic and routine adjustments and maintenance.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Maintains a clean, orderly, safe work area.
  • Produces the required quantity of parts within established specifications and tolerances.
  • Operates production machinery in accordance with prints and specifications. Assigned machines may include arbor press, band saws, grinders, mills, routers, sanders, drills and similar equipment.
  • Follows all safety procedures and protocols.
Requirements:
  • Careful attention to detail and good attendance.
  • Able to check parts with various inspection tools (i.e., calipers, micrometers, height gauges, thread gauges, etc.).
  • Strong problem-solving and multi-tasking skills.
  • Basic shop math, computer skills and mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to communicate and interact effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Basic understanding of machining operations, tool use, and maintenance.
  • Ability to follow directions and work well individually and as part of a team.
  • Good eyesight, hand-eye coordination, dexterity, endurance, strength, hearing, and color vision to perform the job effectively and safely.
  • Ability to understand and interpret blueprints (basic GD&T) and all applicable drawings.
  • At least 3 years of experience operating CNC mills in an aerospace or similar manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to operate grinder and band saw.

Physical Demands: Job duties are performed in an open warehouse environment with a wider range of temperature variation than would be expected in an office environment and with exposure to noise, vibrations, fumes, and chemicals.

  • Repetitive motion of wrists, hands and fingers.
  • Frequent reaching, twisting/turning, handling/grasping, and fine dexterity.
  • Prolonged periods of standing, walking and bending.
  • Frequent lifting, pushing, and/or pulling up to 20 pounds (Occasionally 20-50 pounds).
  • Occasional periods of kneeling, climbing and squatting.
