Job Description
The Certified Nursing Assistant/Personal Care Assistant is amember of the home care team who works under the supervision of a RegisteredNurse, and performs various personal care services as necessary to meet thepatients’ needs.


Essential Duties And Responsibilities


  • Does patient’s laundry, as appropriate
  • Back rubs
  • Assisting the patient with toileting activities
  • Meets safety needs of patients, including proper use ofequipment (foot stools, side rails, etc.), maintains compliance with MaximFalls Prevention program, Infection Control program, and patient-specificEmergency Management plan as applicable
  • Changing bed linen
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Grooming (nail filing, hair care, oral hygiene)
  • Bathing (sponge bath, shower, tub, shampoo)
  • Adherence to Maxim’s documentation and care procedures andstandards of personal and professional conduct
  • Takes and records oral and axillary temperatures, pulse,respiration, and blood pressure when ordered (with appropriatecompleted/demonstrated skills competency)
  • Assists with mobility, positioning, transfers, and usingtransfer/mobility devices as applicable, according to the plan if care
  • Assists in feeding the patient, if necessary
  • Plans and prepares nutritious meals
  • Reports patient’s condition and significant changes to thesupervising Registered Nurse
  • Assisting patients with dressing and undressing
  • Responsibilities of the Certified Nursing Assistant/PatientCare Assistant include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Skin care to prevent breakdown
  • Assists patient in the self-administration of medication
  • Assists with active and passive range of motion exercises andother simple procedures as an extensional therapy service as ordered (withappropriate completed/demonstrated skills competency
  • Keeping patient’s living area clean and orderly, asappropriate


Minimum Requirements


  • Ability to read and follow written instructions and documentcare given
  • Successful completion of Maxim’s orientations/trainings,in-service program, and Maxim training examinations, with a score of 80% orgreater
  • Successful completion of Maxim’s Clinical Competency Programfor home health aides, including successful completion of examinations withscore of 80% or higher, and demonstration of all required skills perState/Federal regulations
  • Meets Maxim and applicable State Background Investigationrequirements
  • Participation in Tuberculosis screening/testing requirementsper Maxim policy and as applicable, per State regulation
  • Possession of current CPR certification and First Aidtraining/certification as applicable, per State regulations
  • Successful completion of a nursing assistant/home health aideor competency training and evaluation program as applicable, per State/Federalregulations


Compensation


  • $18.00/hr - $23.00/hr
