Job Description

Armedia is a CMMI-DEV Level 3 appraised and ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 27001 certified systems integrator providing Business Process, Document, Enterprise Content, Electronic Case, and Records Management services and solutions to government agencies (US Federal, state, county, municipal, foreign) and corporations (US and international), ranging from startups to Fortune 500 companies.

Armedia is seeking a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to support cloud initiatives for a federal client. The role of a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer involves working as part of a team on designing and implementing cloud-based technologies using traditional SDLC and Agile software development methodologies

Your responsibilities include:

  • Deploying and configuring cloud platform and automation templates
  • Ensuring appropriate monitoring configurations are in place and take ownership of incident management.
  • Maintaining and patching cloud systems to meet compliance standards
  • Implementing network and edge firewall configurations

Required Skills:

  • Experience in automating the server configurations to include standard build installations and system security hardening.
  • Extensive knowledge of Linux based systems including Hardware, software, networking, and storage
  • Experience in cloud adoption, including application readiness assessment, server builds, data migration and performance tuning in cloud environments.
  • Experience building and maintaining AWS infrastructure (VPC, EC2, Security Groups, IAM, ECS, Code Deploy, CloudFront, S3)
  • Experience with configuring networking and security configurations including security groups, ACL’s and Gateways.
  • Experience architecting cloud infrastructures on AWS for small, medium enterprise level applications.

Desired Skills:

  • Solid foundation of Linux administration
  • Provide comprehensive system administration support functions on AWS infrastructure.
  • Maintain a highly available Production infrastructure in cloud
  • Provisioning and administration of solutions on AWS using CloudFormation and or other cloud provisioning tools to deploy fully functional VPCs consisting of Windows and Linux AMIs.
  • Strong working knowledge of AWS CLI, AWS-Shell for automating provisioning, deployment, and administrative tasks.

Required Years of Relevant Experience:

  • 5 years of professional IT experience. (Mid-level)

Required Education:

  • Bachelor of Science

Desired Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Management, Management Information Systems or related field

Required (Minimum) Professional Certifications:

  • AWS Certification (At least one: Associate, DevOps, SysOps Administrator, Solution Architect)

Desired (Optimum) Professional Certifications:

  • AWS SysOps Certification
