Job Description
Brief Description
As a Clinical Specialist, Registered Nurse with Vitalant, you will perform therapeutic apheresis treatment in the local hospitals. Low patient to nurse ratio, primarily one-on-one, so you can spend time getting to know your patients and their needs. Training is provided and newly licensed Registered Nurses are always welcome.

We’re looking for someone who can:
  • Performs intraoperative procedures under the supervision of a licensed physician. Is responsible for monitoring patient blood loss, assessing patient status as it relates to apheresis, and communicates to anesthesia and operating room nursing staff the blood volume processed and volume returned to the patient
  • Proactively respond to the receipt and processing of therapeutic orders from Community Physicians, arrangements for necessities of a procedure, such as ordering labs, fluids and materials, and assistance with the development, implementation, and evaluation of new and existing methodologies. Performs therapeutic apheresis procedures on patients under supervision of a licensed Vitalant physician according to SOPs
Requirements
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Associates Degree in Nursing or Diploma from an accredited School of Nursing required.
  • Knowledge of rationale and techniques relating to assigned duties required.
Licenses/Certifications
  • Registered Nurse license in state of practice required. Current CPR certification required. Valid driver’s license required.
Experience
  • Previous apheresis experience preferred.
Previous Acute Hospital Experience Preferred.
Phlebotomy experience preferred.
