      Position Summary:
      Participate in the day-to-day implementation and operation of research studies, conducted by the specific business unit. Research may take place on live humans or specimens. Responsible for recruitment, eligibility screening, enrollment, scheduling, data collection, reports, patient interviews, securing consent, survey collection, reimbursement, summarizing data, etc. Tasks will also have administrative duties as assigned: data entry, data cleaning, generation of reports, attend meetings, take notes at meetings. Write or assist in the process of writing papers which are ready for submission to multiple review committees. Create visual presentation materials and present the info to a variety of audiences. Requires ability to multi-task and produce results for the supporting department. Ultimate goal for the research intern is to learn from the studies they participate in, gain experience which will help them build their knowledge-base for future education or career goals. Will take work direction from a variety of internal staff. H.S. Diploma or equivalent required. College student, (under graduate, graduate program, medical student). No previous research experience is required but some is desired. Demonstrates knowledge of age-related growth and development principles necessary to provide appropriate service and assure safety of patients. Candidates will need to show evidence of the following: • technical, scientific and numerical skills; • a methodical and imaginative approach to work; • tenacity and patience; • the ability to work well in teams and to network and forge links with collaborators. • excellent communication skills (both written and oral) and the ability to build effective relationships with staff and colleagues; • the ability to motivate others; • numeracy; • an eye for detail; • the ability to multi-task and think on your feet; • good organizational, IT and administrative skills

      Additional Information:
      Operational and administrative support to the team involved in conducting clinical cancer research through the Metro-Minnesota Community Oncology Research Program (MMCORC). MMCORC is a consortium of 23 community hospitals and clinics with over 160 physicians in the Minneapolis/St. Paul metro-area which provides the opportunity for patients and physicians to have access to National Cancer Institute (NCI) and pharmaceutical studies for all types of adult cancer.
