About The Department


The Department of Neurology at The University of Chicago Medical Center has a great history and tradition, having made significant contributions to neurological training, clinical care, and the basic understanding of neurological disease. This at-will position is wholly or partially funded by contractual grant funding which is renewed under provisions set by the grantor of the contract. Employment will be contingent upon the continued receipt of these grant funds and satisfactory job performance.


Job Summary


The job independently manages the collection, documentation, analysis of clinical trial data, and reporting of clinical research data. Provides input into the strategic, administrative, operational, and financial decisions that impact clinical research conducted across the University.


Responsibilities


  • Acts as a resource on the basics of clinical research and related aspects of clinical study for colleagues with less experience. May prepare and evaluates writing protocols, IRB submissions, grant applications, manuscripts, reports, and dissemination tools.
  • Performs various aspects of clinical research, such as collecting and processing specimens, interviewing subjects, taking vital signs, and contributing to the case report.
  • Manages the analysis of complex imaging data.
  • Performs other related work as needed.
  • Coordinates and may participate in quality assurance reviews conducted by study sponsors, federal agencies, or specially designated review groups.
  • Solves complex problems relating to data management and the analysis of large administrative datasets. Works independently to develop, manage, and report on key data and ensures timeliness of data and reporting submissions from multiple investigators.
  • Analyzes study-related documentation, such as protocol worksheets, procedural manuals, adverse event reports, institutional review board documents, or progress reports.
  • Implements Good Clinical Practices (GCP) and all relevant current local, state, and federal laws, regulations, policies and procedures. Develops and implements consistent standards and protocols.

Minimum Qualifications


Minimum requirements include a college or university degree in related field.

    Minimum requirements include knowledge and skills developed through 5-7 years of work experience in a related job discipline.
