Clinical Informaticist Specialist Rn

Status : Full Time Regular

Summary:
The Clinical Informaticist Specialist RN is responsible for configuring and supporting the clinical regulatory and /or procedural requirements necessary for technology solutions used by the Hospital or Emergency Departments. The Clinical Informaticist RN works under the direction of the Vice President for Nursing to serve as a liaison role between Information Technology and Nursing Departments for implementation and management of projects for Patient Care Services. He/she supports new implementations and upgrades of various software technologies and assist with reporting systems.

Responsibilities:
Education Required

• Must complete in-house orientation program
• BS or BSN Required. Master’s Degree in Nursing, Clinical Informatics, or related field preferred.
• Graduate of an accredited program for Registered Professional Nursing.

Experience And Skills

• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Speaks, reads and writes English

• Must have a minimum of 5 years RN experience

• Highly developed skills in leadership, public relations, teambuilding, problem solving, decision-making, conflict management, analytical skills and critical thinking abilities.
• Must be proficient/have 2-3 years’ experience in Information Systems, including Electronic Medical Record (EMR/EHR) and MS office
• Must possess strong analytical skills with the ability to write, run, and export ad-hoc reports/queries for Operating Room Information System (e.g., crystal reports).
• Clinical experience and/or skills relevant to the assigned area of practice.
• Computer proficiency.

License/Certifications

• Current and valid New York State registration authorizing practice as a Registered Professional Nurse (RN).
• BLS

• Frequent, prolonged standing/walking.
• Protective clothing/equipment worn (face shields, gloves, impermeable gown, particulate respirator).
