Clinical Educator Jobs

The Clinical Educator facilitates, coordinates and provides staff/management education (e.g., orientation and skills competencies that are age specific, continuing education and patient-care consultation) for professional, technical and ancillary personnel in the Nursing Department. The Clinical Educator provides coordination, consultation or teaching in the areas of patient education and research for adolescent, adult and geriatric patient populations. The Clinical Educator is administratively responsible for planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating Pennsylvania State Nurse Association (PSNA) continuing education activities by Grand View Health.

Essential Functions

• Participates in the counseling of nursing staff when such counseling applies to clinical skills and educational endeavors.
• Serves as a nurse planner and is a permanent planning committee member for all PSNA CEU activities of the hospital.
• Participates in quality management and standards of care activities.
• Evaluates progress of orientees to ensure competency by direct observation, consultation with the preceptor and written evaluation based on competency statements, skill lists and written tests
• Assesses the education and skill needs of Nursing Department personnel for their proper level (Manager, RN, LPN,CA, QA, C&QA, Patient Transporter, MT)
• Facilitates and coordinates a yearly learning-needs assessment as a guide for supplying educational programs or skill sessions.
• Provides both formal and informal educational opportunities for staff and management
• Guides Managers and staff in making clinical decisions based on clinical literature and research findings.

Education and Experience

Bachelor's Degree In Nursing And Over 3 years to 5 years Nursing Experience, required

Master's Degree In Nursing, preferred

Licenses and Certifications

Registered Nurse in PA – Licensed, Upon hire, required

Basic Life Support (BLS), Upon hire, required

Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Upon hire, preferred
