Job Description
Medical Insurance Claims Processor - Hybrid


Medical insurance company is seeking a full-time Claims Processor to join their Charlotte team. This position will be responsible for determining insurance coverage, processing and resolving medical claims, documenting actions, and ensuring legal compliance.


After 3 months of onsite training, this position will have the ability to work from home 4 days a week. Excellent pay up to $22/hr, flexible hours, and comprehensive benefits offered.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Responsible for all aspects of claim adjudication for medical, hospital, and vision for multiple groups in accordance with their plan document
  • Works independently and also as a team member
  • Performs other related duties, as assigned
  • Provides assistance to customer service for claim inquiries and resolution
  • Processes accurately, as quantity and quality standards apply
  • Ensures HIPAA compliancy with protected health information and/or data of sensitive nature
  • Provides back-up support to team members, as required


Qualifications:


  • High school diploma or equivalent; preferred higher education in related field
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and follow-up skills
  • Possess a thorough working knowledge of ICD 10 and CPT coding
  • Understanding of Medicare and Medicaid
  • Required 3-5 years of experience working in the medical industry and management of benefit plans and claims processing
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Ability to interpret client plan documents
  • Strong attention to detail
  • HIPAA compliancy
  • Experience working with TPA preferred (candidates with this experience will be considered first)
  • Application of coordination of benefits
  • Understanding of COBRA
