Civil Structural Engineering Manager - Substation

Role & Responsibilities:

• Design of electrical substation facilities including site and equipment layouts, shallow and deep foundations, structural steel supports for equipment, transmission line termination structures, drainage and grading design, roadway design, cable ducts and trenches, cable trays and supports, fence and access gates, lighting and lighting poles and foundations
• Preparation of project specifications for material and equipment purchase and installation
• Maintaining complete project documentation with respect to substation design and construction, including all completion packages, as-built requirements and return data information
• Resolving site queries, attending site meetings and performing site inspections during the construction phase of projects
• Delivery of accurate and thorough designs that will meet industry standards and specifications and meet good engineering practice

Qualifications:

• Professional Engineer (PE) License
• 8-10+ years of civil/structural substation engineering experience
• Proficiency with concrete foundation design
• Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies
• Knowledge of substation codes and standards such as ASCE 113, ASCE 74, ASCE 7, OSHA, IEEE and ANSI
• Proficiency with structural analysis software, structural steel design, and steel connection design software
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Master’s degree is preferred)
