Summary
Responsible for the oversight for all driver owner/operator activities, including pick-up and delivery, port interaction, governmental regulations, customer service, reporting, and continuous improvement.
Schedule: Monday – Friday; 7:30PM – 4:00AM
Salary $70-$75,000 based off experience.
Compensation package includes annual salary (paid weekly), Paid Vacation (PTO), Paid Holidays, 401k, health insurance, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, and direct deposit.
Pre-plan, assign, dispatch and monitor local truckload shipments with company drivers by giving direction via phone, text, email, or in-cab messaging.
Regular and constant communication with both drivers and dispatch support staff to coordinate shipments, provide updates and capture accessorial information.
Use of company Transportation Management System (TruckMate by TMW) for order-entry and dispatching.
Troubleshooting and resolving any issues that affect the on-time delivery of shipments, such as delayed ready times, driver call-offs, equipment mechanical issues, adverse weather conditions or traffic, etc.
Tracking of company equipment and trailer pools. Proactively communicating imbalances and making adjustments.
Other operational or office responsibilities as assigned.
Essential Functions
- Ensure compliance with DOT, FMCSA and OSHA regulations.
- Maximize revenue per truck, minimize deadhead and minimize turndowns.
- Perform active role in dispatching and tracking of port and store delivery and LTL drivers.
- Maintain expected service outlined in customer service level agreements.
- Minimize driver turnover.
- Ensure that the needs of the customers are known, respond to them, and report problems to the Transportation Manager.
- Works directly with warehouse operations managers to facilitate an efficient and profitable flow of product.
- Ensure maximum communication and coordination between the dispatch, drivers, brokers, customer service and maintenance functions and other company departments.
- Efficient, timely and effective utilization and maintenance of assigned equipment.
- Overall responsibility for the efficient operation of the dispatch, customer service, brokerage and maintenance divisions of the transportation department.
- Follow and monitor port activity.
- Maintain proficiency in trends and technology applicable to respective transportation activities.
- Minimize excess transportation and maintenance costs.

Skills and Abilities
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products Microsoft Office (Access, Excel, Word, Power Point, and Outlook) advanced required
- Ability to assess problem, determine root cause, and work to resolution with a team.
- Functional experience in warehousing, transportation, and supply chain management
- Excellent communication and customer interaction skills
- Flexible work schedule some evening and weekend coverage required.
- Self-starter: ability to work independently
- Strong knowledge of trucking processes, technology, transportation, and supply chain management.
Qualifications
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products Microsoft Office (Access, Excel, Word, Power Point, and Outlook) advanced required
