Childcare Afternoon Assistant Teacher

Summary
Employee will provide support to the Lead Teacher(s) in order to ensure optimum classroom supervision and instruction as well as assist in implementing the daily program.

Duties

• Model appropriate behavior for children in our care.
• Help keep rooms and storage rooms neat.
• Attend Mandatory Reporter training as well as other director mandated training,
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Clean, sweep area after snack.
• Decorate the room with bulletin boards, pictures, and children's art work.
• Copy, cut, and assemble supplies as needed.
• Ensure the safety of the children until dismissed to parent/guardian. No child ever be left unsupervised either inside or outside of the classroom.
• Assist in any way possible, including but not necessarily limited to:
• Assist children with opening snack items and sit with children while they eat.
• Attend staff meetings
• Report to director any special needs or problems of individual students,
• Implement the daily program for assigned children.
• Provide support in daily activities as requested by the director/assistant director,

Requirements

• Have a Christian character.
• Successfully pass a background check and Central Registry check.
• Must have experience working with children.
• Be able to lift up to 45lbs.
