Job Description
Segue Inc., a leader in providing outpatient mental health services in Jackson and Hillsdale counties for over 40 years is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Child Therapist to join our team in Jackson. As a Child Therapist, you will play a crucial role in helping children overcome emotional, behavioral, and psychological challenges. You will provide therapeutic support to children and their families, promoting their mental and emotional well-being.


In this role, you are free to design your own schedule, making this opportunity ideal for retired or semi-retired professionals and those seeking to supplement their income!


This is a contract position.


Responsibilities


  • Offer guidance and support to parents and caregivers to facilitate positive behavioral changes and effective coping strategies.
  • Develop personalized treatment plans based on individual needs and goals.
  • Maintains accurate and confidential records of client sessions and progress in our electronic medical records system.
  • Stay updated with the latest research and developments in child therapy techniques and approaches.
  • Monitor and track progress through regular sessions and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
  • Collaborate with parents, caregivers, and other professionals to ensure comprehensive care for children.
  • Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions, such as play therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, and family therapy.
  • Conduct assessments and evaluations to identify children's emotional and psychological needs.


Qualifications


  • Master's degree in Counseling, Psychology, or Social Work.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with children and their families.
  • Must qualify as a CMHP
  • Proven experience in providing therapy to children and adolescents.
  • Must be a Licensed Professional Counselor, M a s t e r s L i m i t e d P s y c h o l o g i s t or a licensed Clinical Social Worker
  • Strong knowledge of child development, behavior management techniques, and evidence-based therapeutic interventions.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Empathy, patience, and sensitivity to children's unique needs and experiences.
