Chief Information Officer Jobs

The Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) is recruiting for a Chief Information Officer to join our team - a challenging and rewarding opportunity to lead environmental policy and agency operations in Montana.

As the DEQ Chief Information Officer you will focus on vision, direction, and management for the InformationTechnology Bureau.Responsibilities include:

1. InformationTechnologyOperations:Department leadership in all information management areas, including business intelligence, project management, information security, and information asset management.The Chief Information Officer provides leadership and direction to ensure information technology services are delivered efficiently and effectively.
2. Bureau Management and Direction:Establishes goals, objectives, and priorities for the Bureau, with a focus on the agency’s mission and regulatory role.Identifies opportunities for greater efficiency, collaborative efforts with internal and external customers, and application of existing information or best management practices.
3. Personnel Management: Provides supervision and leadership to bureau supervisors and indirectly to bureau staff.Manages professional growth and ensures accountability for direct reports.
4. Fiscal Management: Participates in the executive planning process by identifying bureau resource needs and developing proposed budget, including justifications of resource allocation.Oversees budget by monitoring and authorizing expenditures and grant applications.

Qualifications - External

Minimum requirements include aBachelor’sdegree and five (5) years’ job-related experience primarily overseeing information management operations.Supervisory/management experience is preferred; demonstrated experience in leading people is required.
