Allied Universal is looking to hire a Fire Chief for the World Bank Group in Washington DC! The Fire Chief works with and supervises the Senior Fire Marshals to over see the FLS team.

Position Summary:

  • Provides regular updates to the FLS Program Coordinator for regular briefings to the Security Specialist-Fire Life Safety.
  • Oversees Country Office mission travel requirements for the contract FLS Team.
  • Assists the FLS Coordinator in all project phases of short, medium, and long-term capital investment solutions for all building related to fire life safety systems for HQ offices and assist country offices where required.
  • Conducts research, testing, and provides documentation of current fire mitigation technologies, for practical use and application in country offices, where applicable.
  • Monitors and maintains and follow up on information pertaining to all fire and life safety incidents and building evacuations globally.
  • Ensures that the Fire Core Survey for all Country Offices are monitored, maintained and followed through; assist in the development of mitigation strategies to improve compliance.
  • Oversees and manages existing training programs under the purview of the FLS Team (Emergency Warden, Staff with Disabilities, Fire Extinguisher, Evacuation Chair, etc.)
  • Oversees the audit program for HQ FLSvendors on the effectiveness of Fire Alarm Systems Testing and Inspections.
  • Assists in the development, implementation, and maintenance of HQ Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Performs regular reviews and evaluation of all web content pertaining to the FLS Team
  • Oversees and manages all aspects of fire emergency evacuation drills, for Bank owned and leased facilities.
  • Assists in the development, implementation, and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) including, but not limited to: The Fire Life Safety (FLS) Framework of Accountability and Country Office (CO) Standards.
  • Oversees the implementation of the Deployment of FM to WBG-owned facilities and their implementation of WBG requirement for these sites.Global
  • Monitors, maintains and follow up on information pertaining to all fire and life safety emergencies, particularly that lead to injuries and death of staff in headquarters owned and leased facilities.
  • Assists the FLS Program Coordinator as a liaison with the WBGas Insurance and Liability Units, Disabilities Working Group, and Health and Safety Working Group.
  • Oversees the Global Fire Marshal Program which incorporates the Fire Marshals in Country Offices and conducts Global Monthly video programs.
  • Develops training requirements for all FLS related programs, for both HQ and Country Offices. Acts as a trainer of trainers for these programs
  • Sets the workplan for the Global Fire Marshal program.
  • Provides technical assistance to CO as may be required to evaluate and provide mitigation solutions.
  • Supervises the day-to-day functions of the Senior Fire Marshals (SFM)
  • Provides technical expertise and advisory/consulting services in efforts to resolve fire and life safety issues.
  • Oversees and manages the WBG Emergency and Fire Safety Plan for Headquarters to ensure compliance with local codes/regulations, and WBG standards and requirements.
  • Conducts International Missions Travel as may be required in support of the Global FLSsupport requirements.
  • Assists the FLS Program Coordinator to ensure that FLS principles are considered in country office inspections and projects. Follows up to ensure corrective action is taken by the responsible party.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Demonstrates experience with managing projects in all phases of the project lifecycle (Associates certificate in Project Management preferred).
  • In Lieu of a degree, 10 yearsa experience with the above with interpretation and application of National and International Fire Codes and Standards (NFPA, ICC, ADA, OSHA, etc.) preferred but not required.
  • Must have or be able to obtain a US Passport.
  • Ability to manage multiple and simultaneous priorities, complex situations, a diverse team of employees and client requirements on an ongoing basis.
  • Demonstrates effective organizational skills, attention to detail, and strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to Train Other Trainers (TOT) [recognized TOT certification preferred].
  • Ability to work flexible hours outside of the normal working hours to facilitate and meet the goals/objective of the office of Corporate Security. Attend meetings, off site conferences and seminars, and undertake other adhoc assignments as determined necessary to meet the goals and objectives.
  • Be self-motivated and possess a strong initiative and willingness to learn along with follow through discipline.
  • Must be a team player and responsive to the needs of the organization and the operational needs, goals, and objectives of GCSSC. Requires proven examples of leadership and management skills.
  • A Bacheloras degree with 7.5 years or masteras with 5 years of experience in fire life safety related fields preferred, but not required.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and experience with operating/monitoring standalone and network fire alarm systems.
  • Familiarity of modern technology, emerging trends, and practical applications in a domestic and international setting.
  • Demonstrates ability to conceptualize and analyze problems; identify problems and provide clear concise solutions.
  • Demonstrates familiarity with standards, best practices, regulations WBG policies and procedures, and general fire life safety awareness.
  • Proficiency in use of Microsoft Office Suite applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and open source databases
