RETAINED SEARCH | CFO | Logistics | Greater Chicago

We are working on an exciting retained search with our client in the logistics space looking to bring on a CFO for their America's division. This role will answer to the Americas CEO, with a dotted line to the Global CFO. They are seeking a candidate that is a team player who embraces the companies unique culture, including no job descriptions, willingness to assist regardless of task size, and proactive communication.

What they are looking for:

• Strong accounting knowledge with a business perspective; NOT looking for auditing or consulting backgrounds.
• Knowledge of IFRS accounting standards.
• Experience in negotiating financing with banks and handling day-to-day banking requirements.
• Proven record of accomplishment in various accounting positions, emphasizing ground-up experience.
• Weekly P&L analysis for trend spotting and quick problem-solving with other controllers.
• Ability to multitask and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong communication skills essential for all levels of interaction within the company.
• Understanding and experience in working with insurance carriers, including health, business, cargo, shippers interest, and workers' compensation insurance.
• Oversees accounting teams in Canada, Mexico, and Chile.
• Advantageous to have income tax knowledge and basics for discussions with auditors.
• Budgeting experience not required, but understanding forecasting is helpful.
• Leads a team of four controllers and a finance team covering payroll to cash applications.
• Seeking a candidate interested in long-term career growth and finding a home within the organization.

Qualifications:

• Industry exposure
• 8+ years of relevant progressive experience
• CPA preferred
• Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance, or similar. Plus for MBA
