- Work collaboratively with organizational leaders to assess community needs, create long-term strategies, set performance benchmarks, and develop new opportunities to make a greater impact.
- In partnership with the Chief Program Officer (CPO), identify, implement, and improve upon best practices in the field.
- Develop and present an annual budget to be approved by the Board of Directors.
- Work collaboratively with the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to ensure Childhaven has adequate financial resources to fulfill its vision, mission, goals, and strategies, and meet short- and long-term financial obligations.
- Infuse vision, strategy, community, and values into every aspect of Childhaven's external messaging by working hand-in-hand with the Chief Marketing & Communications Officer and Chief Collective Impact & Government Relations Officer.
- In partnership with the Chief Philanthropy Officer, maximize all forms of revenue and support to advance the organization's priorities.
- Serve as a primary ambassador of Childhaven seeking new opportunities to raise the organization's visibility and broaden support.
- Proactively pursue opportunities to work collaboratively with community members of matters of shared interest.
- Successfully develop high-impact multisector partnerships with for-profit corporations, primary healthcare enterprises, universities, service groups, mission-aligned nonprofits, and the faith community.
- Serve as the bridge between the Board and day-to-day operations of Childhaven, ensuring that all members are informed of relevant trends, potentially damaging activities, anticipated adverse media coverage or legal actions, and/or any material changes in staffing, funding, or programs.
- Foster a board culture where all members are actively engaged, supported, and equipped to fulfill their responsibilities and serve as ambassadors of Childhaven's work.
- Work in close partnership with the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee to preserve and promote the organization and its impact.
- Childhaven recognizes the detrimental impact the systems of oppression, including systemic racism, and trauma have on families and communities. We acknowledge that our success necessitates a commitment to dismantling longstanding, deeply entrenched systems that sustain inequities and retraumatize families.
- The CEO, in partnership with the Board of Directors and Senior Leadership Team (SLT), will advocate for internal and systemic changes consistent with Childhaven's mission, Strategic Impact Plan (SIP), and values, and cultivate and maintain a workplace culture that values and reflects the organization's commitment to social justice, diversity, equity, inclusion, and trauma-informed and healing-centered care.
- Demonstrated strategic planning, implementation, evaluation, and adaptive thinking skills with a curiosity and a desire to explore new ideas and innovative approaches to solving problems.
- Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement and the ability to be entrepreneurial, innovative, and bold!
- Experience forming and enchancing multisector partnerships, including mergers and alliances with mission-aligned organizations.
- Excellent relationship-building skills with a broad range of constituencies, including partner organizations, donors, funders, community leaders, and public officials.
- Track record of success implementing antiracist organizational policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Ability to relate to people of diverse racial and socioeconomic backgrounds, and enjoyment in building rapport with those who have varying viewpoints and perceptions. Confident in a highly visible role with leaders from all sectors.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health (IECMH), trauma-informed and healing-centered care, workforce development, and systems change efforts.
- Significant senior-level management experience leading a complex, geographically dispersed organization through a period of growth and change.
- A clear passion for Childhaven's vision, mission, goals, strategies, and programs.
- Strong understanding of local, state, and federal early childhood programs and systems.
- A self-aware team-builder who listens to internal and external input and works collaboratively and is willing to take decisive action when required.
- Demonstrated experience serving as a spokesperson for a mission-driven organization, strong written and verbal communication skills, and experience speaking with the media.
- Excellent nonprofit finance and operational experience, including budgeting, accounting, forecasting, and translating technical information for diverse audiences.
- Proven success in securing public and private funding, obtaining and managing government funding, and securing funding from major donors.
