Chief Accountant - Metaverse Project

The company is an Ethereum Layer 2 scaling solution, built to bring digital assets, NFTs, and blockchain gaming to life. Our mission is to empower digital asset ownership for people and businesses. We are looking for a Chief Accountant to build and lead the accounting and taxes activities at the company. You will plan, direct, and conduct the full accounting activities cycles, as well as manage the taxes and external audits. You will have three direct reports and report to the Finance Director.
Responsibilities

• Consolidation
• Ensure tax compliance and recommend optimization solutions
• Onboard, train, and manage team members (Reconciliation and Consolidation Accountant/ Receivables, Payables & Payroll Accountant / Tax, and external Audit Associate)
• Monthly closing until the availability of the 3 statements (P/L, BS, CF)
• Manage Transfer Pricing documentation and participate in inter companies’ contracts strategy
• Ensure permanent up-to-date and accurate accounting entries to maintain general and subsidiary ledgers (including accounts receivable, revenue distribution, depreciation, cost, operating expenses, and insurance)
• Prepare other reports and participate in other special projects as requested
• Coordinates preparation of external audit materials
• Ensure proper reconciliations are done
• Implement relevant tools for the division to ensure data quality and reliability
• Ensure payment requests are timely processed and sent to the treasury division for execution
• Collaborate with FP&A department for analysis
• Provide comments in BS and CF variations (indirect method for CF)
• Strategize, document, and implement tax and accounting policies and SOPs to ensure necessary controls and segregation of duties are in place
• Ad-hoc requests pertaining to Accounting

Requirements

• Tech-savvy and at ease with new technology usage and implementation
• Continuous learner, aware of best practices and trends
• Perform under time constraints and meet deadlines
• Autonomous
• Professional accounting certification (CPA, CA, CMA, etc.)
• 3+ years of management
• Can-do attitude
• Empathetic manager
• Work in a remote and globally distributed team
• At ease with SOPs creation and management
• Strong knowledge of transfer pricing
• Bachelor/Master's degree
• Self-motivated
• 10+ years minimum of experience, including 5+ years as Chief Accountant
• IFRS expert
• Experienced in an international blockchain environment is mandatory
• Experienced in multi-country - multi entities accounting is mandatory
• Detail-oriented
• Passionate about web3.0/blockchain/NFT gaming space
• Know how to multitask and prioritize
