AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Chemist in Honolulu, Hawaii.

This person will be working with and in support of project managers and project assistants. Imagine working on rewarding projects within a diverse culture and having access to exceptional training and career development opportunities.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Work with data management to manage data flow from the laboratory to final reporting
  • Research environmental laboratory practices and methodologies
  • Prepare technical reports and papers, and QAPPs
  • Perform data review and validation for multi-media data
  • Prepare proposals, procures, and oversees laboratory services and approves invoices
  • Conduct field and laboratory technical system audits
  • Utilize basic scientific principles, theories, practices, and existing technologies to develop solutions for technical problems with limited scope
  • Ensure project- and QAPP-specific data requirements are met
  • Work under supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member
  • Support field efforts by preparing sampling plans and field documentation.
  • Coordinate with end user to define data quality requirements and to help assure that data are scientifically sound and are usable in meeting end-use objectives
  • Interpret and record data, conduct analyses, compare findings to relevant studies and local, state, and federal regulations to ensure compliance
  • Collect and enter data, and apply technical principles and theories

Qualifications


Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be authorized to work in U.S. without sponsorship
  • BA/BS in Chemistry + relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in laboratory or environmental chemistry is a plus
  • Working knowledge of instrumentation used for environmental analysis (i.e. GC/MS, ICP, GC-ECD, IC, etc.)
  • Master's or PhD’s degree in Chemistry or other related field
  • Must be proficient in standard office computer applications and software, to include Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access
  • Candidate must be able to travel and work outdoors as needed
