Job Functions


  • Perform process control and solution control testing and monitoring
  • Monitor material in process for potential quality defects
  • Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit and Harlow Aerostructures
  • Prepare airplane parts for processing and ensure parts meet specifications
  • Operate and standardize laboratory equipment
  • Document and maintain laboratory records
  • Add chemicals to the chemical process line as directed by the Quality Department
  • Perform routine chemical testing and minor maintenance on chemical baths and equipment
  • Follow company safety rules and wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required
  • Sand and mask parts as needed
  • Collect samples for testing, perform process and solution control testing, and formulate buffer solutions and reagents.
  • Operator is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals
  • Keep work area clean, sanitized and organized
  • Rack, un-rack, and process work orders through the processing line


Skills Required


  • Knowledge of the metric system units (length, area, volume, capacity, mass, and weight) and U.S. equivalents.
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands, reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • Organizational skills
  • Ability to perform basic math (add, subtract, multiply, and divide), ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and interpret bar graphs
  • Knowledge of internal laboratory procedures and protocols
  • Must regularly lift and/or move to 50 pounds
  • Ability to work alone or as a member of a team, good cooperative skills
  • Must be self-disciplined and self-motivated, with strong accountability (attention to details) skills
  • Good computer skills
  • Excellent vision (whether or not corrected)
  • Ability to read, write and speak the English language


Education And Experience Required


  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in aircraft manufacturing, preferred
  • Ability to be fit for a Respirator and pass annual physical exams
  • Experience working in a chemical environment, preferred
  • 1+ years racking experience for etch and chem film
  • Racking experience for anodize, preferred
