Description

The Camden Site currently has an opening(s) for Chem Lab / Solution Prep Technician. This position will be assigned to a shift-based work schedule and shift assignment will be based on business need. This position could also be assigned to provide support to both areas.

What You Will Do In Your Role

A Day in the Life Typically Includes:

  • Share and seek knowledge from the Method Technician and/or the Area Specialist to assist with troubleshooting, any special training/equipment needs
  • Manage data entry in computer applications (SAP, QCS, OTIS, OpCon, PQM-g, etc.) and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Make-up of solutions for S&F
  • Complete sample analysis to include use of RV, Amine Ends, pH, X-ray, etc.
  • Follow established Test Methods to obtain and report accurate results
  • Work with government agencies for reportable spills/releases
  • Process special requests from engineers; supporting new product testing
  • Receive / process / analyze product & chemical samples from different areas of the plant
  • Ensure sample results are automatically sent via computer applications
  • Respond to production or environmental non-conformance, communicating with the site operations
  • Maintain safe work practices by following safety data sheets (SDS’s), plant/area Safety rules and procedures

Work Schedule:

  • Rotating shift schedule requires employee to work some holidays and at least 50% of weekends
  • Schedule is subject to modification as production needs dictate, overtime is required, as needed
  • Average full-time work schedule of 15 days per month
  • Rotating 12-hour shifts. (36 hours one week, 48 hours the following week)

The Experience You Will Bring

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Work Keys: Locating Information or Graphic Literacy – 5, Observation – 4, Applied Mathematics – 5
  • Associates Degree or higher
  • 1-year minimum technical experience (Intermediate proficiency level in Microsoft Office (especially Excel), ability to troubleshoot data and recognize outliers
  • Level 2 Safe Work Permit Issuer & Lockout Capabilities
  • Working knowledge of OpCon, PQM, OTIS, SAP, Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience working in a laboratory environment
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Held a Team Lead or APL position

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:

  • Working twelve (12) hour shifts to include, weekends & holidays
  • Commitment to adhere to safety rules and regulations including wearing personal protective equipment (including respirators)
  • Available to work Overtime
  • Perform tasks such as lifting (~55lbs), walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing and/or pulling for up to twelve (12) hours / day
