Job Title: Certified Medication Aide or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
Job Summary:
We are seeking a professional and compassionate Certified Medication Aide or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our dedicated healthcare team. The primary role of this position is to assist in providing quality care and monitoring the health and well-being of our patients or residents. Working under the guidance and supervision of nurses, the CMA/CNA will ensure medication administration, patient assistance, ADL (activities of daily living) support, and maintenance of a safe and clean environment.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assist patients or residents with ADLs such as bathing, dressing, eating, and grooming
- Maintain a clean and organized environment for patients or residents
- Assist in transferring patients or residents using appropriate techniques and equipment
- Provide emotional support to patients or residents and their families
- Monitor and record vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, and temperature
- Respond to emergencies and provide basic life support as needed
- Administer medications provided by licensed nursing staff and follow medication management protocols
- Collaborate with nursing staff and healthcare team members to ensure cohesive and comprehensive care
- Document care and medication administration accurately and timely
- Report observations and reactions regarding patients or residents to nursing staff
Qualifications and Skills:
- Compassionate and patient-centered approach towards care
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Solid understanding of medical terminologies and procedures
- Previous experience in a healthcare or long-term care setting is preferred
- Physical stamina and ability to lift, bend, and stand for long periods
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of a state-approved Certified Medication Aide or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program
- Current certification as a Medication Aide or CNA
