Cdl A Regional Auto Haul Driver (3361)

We are looking for drivers with at least six months professional driving experience with a Class A CDL. Carhaul experience preferred, but not required. At Jack Cooper Transport, our mission is to lead the vehicle transport services industry by meeting or exceeding our customers’ expectations for timely delivery, damage-free performance and value.

Compensation

• Average annual gross pay: $60,00 – 90,000+ pending on auto haul experience. If you have the experience, you can make up to $120,00+
• Average weekly gross pay: $1,500
• Union dues are $71 per month and are deducted monthly around the 15th of the month
• Loading and unloading pay: $15-$25 per vehicle
• Sign-on bonus of $6,000-15,000 depending on experience (Paid out over a year)
• Paid via direct deposit weekly
• Delay and breakdown pay (varies)
• Pay Rate: $1.00-$1.43 per loaded mile with an average of 2,000 miles a week
• $2,500 Referral Bonus
• Guarantees pay of $1,000/week ($200 per day) during the probationary period (30-60 days) in the event that you do not gross more than $1,000. After the completion of the probationary period, Benefits would be effective, and you are officially a Teamster and pension contributions would begin, at $150 per week.

Home Time, Route, & Schedule

• Load, unload & transport vehicles to/from manufacturing plants, rail heads, and dealerships in a safe and timely manner while meeting delivery schedules
• Deliveries from Midwest to East Coast and South to Alabama and North Michigan and Wisconsin
• Home Weekly. Typically weekends!
• While away from home, corporate lodging will be provided to stay in hotels, as Jack Cooper's tractors are solely day cabs

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Must meet Department of Transportation (DOT) testing and physical requirements and be knowledgeable of DOT regulations
• Must be able to withstand prolonged sitting (driving), walking or standing, to reach and work overhead, squat, bend, climb, pull and twist body, push/pull and manual dexterity
• Must have CDL A license with air brakes endorsement
• Inspect vehicles for defects and damages prior to loading
• Able and authorized to drive a manual transmission with no restrictions
• Must have graduated from an accredited driving school
• Six months professional driving experience (Class A CDL), carhaul experience preferred not required
• Must be able to pass a required pre-employment drug screen
• Ability to work at height
• No more than a combination of 3 moving violations and/or at-fault accidents in the last 3 year period
• No DUI/DWI’s in last 3 years
• Hiring Radius: Drivers must live within 150 miles of Fort Wayne, IN or be willing to relocate for this position
• Operate electronic log system
