Summary 



 The Catalog Manager, Data Production is responsible for thoroughly understanding and supporting the elements that form our catalog data production strategy and the evolution to become the leading cataloging organization in the automotive aftermarket. This manager is responsible for a team that processes, shapes, and identifies opportunity for the company’s production catalogs. This includes but is not limited to facilitating communication and issue resolution for internal and external customers, and aiding in continuous improvement activities. This position supports strategic projects as assigned. Responsible for team development, retention, engagement, collaboration, and change management. 


This position builds strong cross-functional and collaborative relationships with internal and external business partners to fully understand their strategies and needs to implement the most impactful delivery method. This team member will work closely with many to ensure smooth execution and success of key company initiatives. Team Member will also be responsible for external business partnerships to make sure we are meeting business needs in the most efficient and responsible way. 


As a team leader the Catalog Manager, Data Production is responsible for team performance, efficiency, and mentorship. This manager will own final delegation and assignment of data ingestion and will consistently review team output to identify and action performance opportunities. As a mentor this position will work to transfer knowledge with individual team members as well as working to improve and expand their skillsets. 



Essential Duties And Responsibilities  


While other duties may be assigned, the ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: 


Performance and Accountability 


  • Provide clear directions to team members. Ensure that goals and expectations are established for and understood by each individual team member. 
  • Set performance standards, provide regular feedback and coaching to continuously improve performance. 
  • Ensure alignment between company and team goals. 
  • Manage team member assignments and timelines to balance data throughput with data quality requirements. 
  • Oversee performance of individual team members, and the team as a single unit. 


Communication 


  • Communicate important information effectively to management and other stakeholders 
  • Advocate consistently for team’s needs and goals. Ensure expectations from other teams and stakeholders align with team ownership and realistic performance. 
  • Responds to all communication professionally and in a timely manner.  
  • As required coordinates and organizes with appropriate personnel special projects involving presentations manuals standard and special correspondence for customer relations. 
  • Develops communication tools to ensure a high level of awareness of policies, plans, procedures or study/project results. 
  • Promotes customer satisfaction. Reviews all comments, questions, complaints, and compliments received from customers and coordinates with applicable manager as to action to be taken. 


Documentation 


  • Formulates proposals for new systems and information needs by analyzing existing systems and procedures and defining recommended technical and procedural improvements. 
  • Participates in the modification of existing applications or development of new applications. 
  • Responsible for defining and performing systems analysis, process analysis, and development tasks to improve workflow and operating efficiency. 
  • Ensures all documentation and requests comply with established policies and procedures. Maintains applicable systems to monitor and track projects, plans and/or data; provides reports to management as needed. Writes test plans and performs tests of new systems and modifications to existing systems. 
  • Update existing project and workflow documentation, clearly identifying ownership and task assignment between individual contributors and/or other teams. 


Mentorship 


  • Provide guidance and support for team members, helping them navigate their professional journey and set reasonable goals. 
  • Create networking opportunities to foster relationships with internal and external stakeholders. 
  • Facilitate knowledge and skill development to improve individual strengths and to truly understand best practices. 



SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES-Team Leadership 


  • Manage a team of 8-10+ catalog analysts with varying responsibilities and skill level. 



Qualifications

Education And/Or Experience 


  • Five or more years of experience leading teams 
  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experience 
  • Five or more years of experience interaction with automotive aftermarket catalog and e-commerce gateway vendors 



Preferred Qualifications 


  • Knowledge of automotive aftermarket ACES and PIES standards preferred 
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to multitask/prioritize based on urgency. 
  • Knowledge of database systems (such as MSSQL) and SQL preferred  
  • Decisive and strong attention to detail. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Proficient in MS Office applications, including PowerPoint, Excel, and Word. 
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills. 
  • Ability to maintain calm under pressure.
