CURRENT OPPORTUNITY TO JOIN OUR TEAM:
The Wood County Human Services Department, Family Services Division, has an immediate opening for a Case Manager/Social Worker - Youth Justice. This position provides assessment and case management services in the provision of Child Protective Services and/or Juvenile Court Services to youth and their families. This position must work toward the efforts and support the supervisor and Family Services Division to ensure compliance with program objectives and applicable standards, mandates, rules, regulations, and statutory authority. The work is performed under the immediate direction of the Youth Justice Supervisor with additional oversight.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.
A. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Use Social Work Methods, principles, strengths-based approaches, evidence-based tools, and interviewing techniques to develop treatment plans to meet established objectives and goals. Establish rapport and build trusting relationships with the youth, family, and placement providers to obtain information adequate to determine the scope of the concerns and to effectively work with the family. The Case Manager/Social Worker must develop a cooperative working relationship with other community systems involved with treatment of the youth and his/her family and assist the family to obtain optimum benefit from the services.
2. Completes juvenile intake inquiries, thorough assessments, and ongoing case management services to youth and families who are referred to Youth Justice.
3. Provide services to youth with complex trauma histories, behavioral, and mental health concerns.
4. Juvenile court preparation and testimony is required.
5. Manage workload to assure adequate compliance with required paperwork and establish accountability procedures.
6. Utilize evidence-informed or evidence-based methods in providing case management services to the youth and family with the goal of maintaining youth in their home environment and local community.
7. Function as a team member with the Family Resource Coordinator, youth mentor, treatment service providers, community partners, and other support staff.
8. Participate in a rotating paid on-call system to respond to emergent situations outside of traditional business hours, including weekends and holidays.
9. Responsible to know and practice the Safety policies of the County. Perform all job tasks in a safe and prescribed manner.
10. Must be familiar with and exemplify the Wood County Core Values and serve with courtesy and respect in accordance with the Wood County Code of Conduct.
B. OTHER JOB DUTIES
1. Provide appropriate social work services and interventions to juveniles who may be referred for sexual offenses.
2. Attend Department staff meetings, appropriate training and education, and supervisory conferences.
3. Demonstrate the ability to constructively utilize training and education provided and administrative consultation.
4. Any other duties as may be assigned.


Minimum Training and Experience Required to Perform Essential Job Functions
NON-CERTIFIED: Minimum qualifications of a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or a directly related field. Basic everyday living skills, the ability to understand and follow directions (agency manuals, etc.), and reading and writing (for reports) is necessary. Ability to communicate orally and in writing with individuals and groups. This position may require travel to and from off-campus sites. Individual may use personal vehicle or other means of reliable transportation.
Basic office equipment used: computer, printing equipment, dictation equipment, telephone, copy machine, FAX machine.
CERTIFIED: Minimum qualifications of a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or a directly related field, and one year experience in the family services field. Possession of, or eligibility for, Social Work Certification in accordance with Wisconsin Chapter 457.08 is required. Basic everyday living skills, the ability to understand and follow directions (agency manuals, etc.), and reading and writing (for reports) is necessary. Ability to communicate orally and in writing with individuals and groups. This position may require travel to and from off-campus sites. Individual may use personal vehicle or other means of reliable transportation.
