Case Aide Jobs

Youth & Family Services (YFS) help parents and young people strive to become healthy and restore their relationships. This division works in partnership with human services, child welfare systems, juvenile courts, and community-based service providers to help individuals and families obtain the services and skills they need to live a positive and healthy lifestyle.

The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) allows TASC (Treatment Alternatives for Safe Communities) to provide Intensive Placement Services (IPS) programming to youth in many communities across Cook County. Intensive case management services are provided to children and adolescents involved in the foster care/child welfare system who have social emotional and behavioral health disorders. As an IPS provider, TASC works with parents/caregivers, families, schools, communities, and others to address issues that may put foster care placements at risk, and helps youth achieve stable living situations.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Provide additional support for youth struggling with basic academic assignments.
• Maintain accurate and relevant client information in Electronic Case Record (ECR) and IPS database.
• Assist case managers with enhancing life-skills development for youth in care.
• Work along with IPS case manager to help stabilize foster home placements.
• Assist case manager with reporting youth’s behavior progress and transitioning from foster care to returning home.
• Provide additional support to youth with employment and vocational goals.
• Consult with case manager regarding Flex funds needed to participate in afterschool extracurricular activities in the community.
• Motivate youth to participate in extracurricular activities in the community.

Job Requirements

• Demonstrates proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google office products.
• Knowledge of children and adolescents involved in the foster care/child welfare system who have social emotional and behavioral health disorders.
• Knowledge of Trauma-informed Care, preferred
• Must possess basic knowledge of DCFS, Child Welfare System
• Must possess a valid Illinois Driver’s license, reliable vehicle and current car insurance.
• Ability to work with a diverse population and Local Network Areas (LANs) in Chicago
• High School Diploma; Bachelor’s degree preferred from an accredited college or university.
