Our Carpenters will be responsible for general carpentry tasks associated with interior renovation projects.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Build and layout flooring and dry walls to ensure accurate elevation
• Read and interpret building plans/blueprint for large and complex structures
• Cut, shape, and smoothen the surface of materials using power saws and sanders
• Take the measurement of distances and materials to establish the dimension/size of a structure
• Additional responsibilities as needed
• Work and maintain knowledge of various construction materials among which include wood, fiberglass, steel, and concrete
• Follow construction plans and instructions from supervisors or more experienced workers
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations to minimize the risk of a workplace accident
• Erect walls, doors, window frames, furniture, and other structures

Requirements:

• Past carpenter experience a plus
• Ability to work on a team and independently
• Successful background check
• Reliable transportation to the worksite
• High School Diploma or equivalent

This individual will be working as a J.A. Watts, Inc. employee and as a member of the Chicago Regional Council of Carpenters Union. As a union member, they qualify for union required wages and benefits.
