Cantata Home Services is part of the Cantata Adult Life Services family and has been working in the community for over 20 years. In fact, over 75% of our services are offered into the community. As a majority of people wish to stay in their homes as they age, we continue to grow to better serve our clients and their needs by offering affordable, non-intrusive care in the home. Staying safe and comfortable at home sometimes means taking care of more than just our clients. Our Handyman team also works hard to ensure our clients’ homes are maintained as well.
Requirements
Knowledge/Skill/Experience

• Extensive contact with customers on a daily basis
• Flexibility and interest in going above and beyond
• An open mind and an interest in learning how to work with ill, disabled, emotionally upset, and, at times, hostile people
• Experience working independently, i.e. the ability to exercise good judgment, and time management skills
• Ideally, at least three (3) years of experience working in a direct care capacity
• Comfortable with using (calendars; email) on a computer and smartphone
• Demonstrated passion for providing direct care to elderly people and/or other vulnerable clients
• Successful passing of a drug test and IDPH fingerprint criminal background test
• Certified Nursing Assistant competency desired, but not required
• Extensive contact with the Program Manager
• Contact with Others
• Some interaction with customers’ family members
• Excellent and adaptable people skills
• Maturity, patience, and the willingness to work closely on a team
• Valid driver’s license, reliable access to a car, and active car insurance
• Completion of State of Illinois 8-hr. training class prior to hire, per State regulations

Responsibility for Confidential DataEmployee-Partners are required to safeguard sensitive information. Sensitive information includes, but shall not be limited to, information concerning Cantata Adult Life Services’ former and current residents/clients, medical and health information and Cantata Adult Life Services’ information systems including but not limited to the Internet and E-mail.E. Physical Requirements/Working Conditions

• May be required to work in adverse weather conditions.
• Must be in good general health, as set forth by this company and division; and maintain personal good health and safety practices to be able to do the job.
• May be requested to work on weekends and holidays when necessary.
• This position requires bending, lifting, pushing, sitting, standing and walking for extended periods of time; and the ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.

F. Exposure Classification

• Job duties are classified as Category II (no routine contact with blood, body fluids or tissues).
• Routine exposure to chemicals, which are identified for use in homes or in Cantata Adult Life Services.
