Job Description


This is a 32-hour weekend day shift position at Hunsaker Home, an Adult Foster Home in the River Road area in Eugene, Oregon. We are a specialized adult foster home which means we care for clients with a variety of adult-onset disease processes such neuromuscular disease, TBI, complex medical and psychiatric issues.


Our caregiver to resident ratio is no less than 2:5.


Our mission is to provide the best individualized care in a home like environment.


Responsibilities


  • Administer medications after medication class and approval from the Administrator.
  • Respond to emergency situations according to current policies and procedures.
  • Complete laundry and ensure it is delivered back to the room in a timely manner.
  • Report to the Administrator any signs of community member abuse or witnessed misappropriation.
  • Must be able to pass a background check and complete dementia and caregiver preservice training.
  • Tidy community members’ rooms and other common areas around the home.
  • Assist community members with hydration, meal set up, and eating assistance.
  • Take and record vitals into community members’ charts.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or delegated by the nurse verbally or in writing.
  • Transfer and escort community members following care plans and safe practices.
  • Completed incident reports per policy on assigned shift.
  • Observe community members for changes in condition and report any significant changes.
  • Support and perform care as specified in the community member service plan.
  • Change linens and remove garbage.
  • Treat all community members with respect, dignity, and compassion.
  • Read and contribute to shifting reports and care notes to ensure continuity of care.
  • Assist community members to engage in person-centered activities and participate with community members as appropriate.
  • Have a neat and clean appearance and adhere to the dress code as policy indicates.
  • Document care provided.
  • Must be able work weekends. Weekend differential available
  • Assist community members with activities of daily living and assist with physical care such as toileting, bathing, dressing, hygiene, and transferring.
  • Promptly respond to calls.
