Job Description
Working as a full-time Career Coach - Employment Specialist at Families Forward, a Fedcap program, is an exciting opportunity to join our team of dedicated professionals who are passionate about changing lives for the better. In this vocational rehabilitation position, you'll have the chance to work on-site in Rockland, ME, helping participants navigate the job market and find fulfilling employment opportunities.
We offer a competitive wage as well as fantastic benefits, including medical, dental, vision, a flexible spending account (FSA), a 403(b) plan, an employee assistance program, a future mom's program, and life insurance.
OUR MISSION
Founded in 1935, the Fedcap Group is the parent company of a growing number of top-tier nonprofit agencies dedicated to serving over 300,000 children and adults each year across the United States and the United Kingdom. Families Forward was created to meet the needs of the people in Maine. We're a human services organization committed to helping individuals obtain long-term economic well-being. We work hard to provide access to employment, training, education, and community resources.
Nearly 60% of our staff have lived in Maine for over 20 years. "Mainers" to the core, our team models the strong work ethic and integrity our state is known for. We value each and every employee! This is why we provide competitive compensation, robust benefits, and plenty of opportunities for personal and professional growth.
THE DAY-TO-DAY FOR A CAREER COACH - EMPLOYMENT SPECIALIST
The typical work hours for this human services job are during the day.
As a Career Coach - Employment Specialist at our nonprofit, you are like the ultimate friend for program participants - building trust and getting to know them inside and out. You work together to create a plan for world domination (well, at least in terms of employment) with a Family Contract Amendment (FCA) that outlines their short- and long-term goals. You check in monthly to see how your participants are doing and make sure they're on track with program requirements. And if life happens and they can't make a meeting, you quickly reschedule.
You're like a superhero, bringing in extra support from external providers to make sure your participants have all the resources they need. You stay organized by using the FedcapCARES program to plan out daily and weekly tasks. And of course, you always act professionally, following policies and representing our nonprofit like a boss. You get to feel like a rockstar knowing you're making a difference in the community in this vocational rehabilitation role in human services!
