Cardiac Stress Monitor Technician – Heart & Vascular Specialists
Fast-paced, high volume clinic is looking for top skilled Cardiac Stress Monitor Technician
Work location: 4370 Medical Arts Drive, Flower Mound, TX 75028
Work hours: Full-time, 40 hours weekly, Monday thru Thursday, 8:00am - 5:00pm & Friday, 7:30am – 4:30pm
Travel: to the other clinics in Lewisville or Denton is a potential but less than 25%
Position Highlights
Texas Health Physicians Group (THPG) is a not-for-profit physician organization with more than 250 locations and 800 physicians, nurse practitioners and physician assistants dedicated to providing quality care in clinics and medical offices throughout North Texas.

Here’s What You Need
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (required) AND
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Physiology or relevant Healthcare field (preferred)
  • ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support Upon Hire (strongly preferred)
  • 6 months experience in Cardiac or Stress Testing environment (preferred)
  • Strong working knowledge of EKG Rhythms and Dysrhythmias (strongly preferred)
  • BCLS Basic Cardiac Life Support Upon Hire (required)
  • Associate degree in Exercise Physiology or relevant Healthcare field (required)
  • CMA – Certified Medical Assistant with 2 years’ experience Monitoring Cardiac Stress Testing (required) OR
A successful Cardiac Stress Monitor Technician will
  • Good computer skills using a medical management application
  • Maintains a positive, caring attitude towards patients
  • Demonstrates sound judgment and composure with the ability to take appropriate action in questionable or emergency situations
  • Must possess a strong work ethic and a high level of professionalism
  • Have basic knowledge EKGs and stress testing
  • Ability to effectively communicate to staff and patients
What You Will Do
Delivers care to patients utilizing the Cardiac Stress Monitor Technician Process
  • Escalates non-routine issues to the practice manager or physician
  • Prepares testing rooms and maintains daily cleaning list
  • Monitors patients at rest, stress and recovery on EKG and takes and records blood pressures as directed
  • Schedules patients for diagnostic testing and follows up to ensure completion of testing
  • Prepares reports of test results for interpretation by the physician
  • Ensures correct lead placement and operates stress testing equipment, including entry of applicable patient data
  • Performs Holter scans, signal average electrocardiograms (ECGs), may scan Holter acquisitions and review data to identify abnormalities
  • Performs other duties as assigned by practice manager or physician
  • Communicates with physicians, managers, and co-workers as appropriate about changes in patient's clinical conditions while undergoing or after echocardiogram/stress testing
  • Conducts treadmill tests, including patient preparation, test performance, and patient recovery
