POSITION: Residential Services Specialist


PROGRAM: Hill Street


DIVISION: Community Developmental Services


Summary Of Position


Calling all Night Owls! Looking for a job that allows you to have a flexible schedule? WCMHS is seeking an inclusive individual who is compassionate about supporting a group of individuals living with developmental disabilities and medical concerns at a group home in Barre.


Responsibilities include personal care, community inclusion, working on communication skills, household maintenance, and other team approach activities.


Schedule includes awake overnights.


Responsibilities Include


  • Assisting the residents in community settings.
  • Helping to promote an active lifestyle through engagement in activity and exercise.
  • Provide total care for day-to-day tasks such as bathing, grooming, transportation, housekeeping, grocery shopping and meal preparation.
  • Capture online notes and data related to residents’ daily experiences in electronic medical record software.
  • Preserve privacy, confidentiality and ensure dignity to all residents.
  • Lifting and transferring, up to 30 pounds, in a safe manner.
  • Deliver and administration of medication according to agency guidelines.
  • Contribute to the development of and ensure support with progress towards objectives identified in Individual Support Agreement (ISA).


SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES WILL :
  • Possess and express great patience and empathy for residents.
  • Possess the ability to work independently and as a team.
  • Possess effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Follow through with assigned tasks.


QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Positive attitude and sense of humor.
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license, excellent driving record and access to a safe, reliable, insured vehicle.
  • Prior experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities preferred but not required.
  • Experience with technology such as Microsoft Suite.
  • Ability to adapt to a changing environment.
