Job Description

An extremely well-known medical group is searching for a call-center associate to join the team on a temp to perm basis! Those who have experience working in a call center environment as well as those who are experienced in the medical field will be highly considered!
Location: Stamford, CT
Industry: Large Specialty Medical Practice
Pay: $19/hour
**On Site 5 days/week**

PURPOSE:
Serves as initial point of contact through our call center to register all new patients and direct current patients - utilizing skills of tact, compassion, and confidentiality in a professional manner.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:
  • Provide excellent customer service
  • Screen and transfer calls to the appropriate person/department
  • Assign pending documents into a patient's chart within the EMR system
  • Take electronic messages and convey information to respective medical care providers
  • Other duties as assigned by managers and leads
  • Manage calls from patients requiring medical care and provide / gather information needed
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: High School diploma or GED.

EXPERIENCE: One-year medical office experience. Health care receptionist or call center experience preferred.

KNOWLEDGE:
  • Electronic medical systems is a plus, including Athena/Centricity, Medi-Tech and the like.
  • HIPAA and other regulatory policies
  • Medical office procedures, policies, practices and medical terminology, telephone protocol and professional etiquette
  • Insurance regulations, policies, and procedures
SKILLS:
  • Strong communication skills, verbal and written
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think quickly, professional, and efficiently
  • Ability to represent our organization in a professional manner
  • Extensive customer service experience
  • Proven ability to multi-task
  • Computer skills, being proficient with Windows based software
