Cad Manager Jobs

TranTech Engineering, LLC is looking to hire a full-time CAD Manager with a minimum 8 years of

experience. The candidate will work on a variety of projects throughout the Puget Sound region including

municipal roadways, bridges, retaining walls, drainage systems, utility networks, transportation systems,

and construction management projects for various public agencies.

Typical Job Responsibilities

 Refine existing TranTech CAD standards in accordance with the United States National CAD

Standard® - V6 and ensure compliance company-wide by active CAD users;

 Rendering & animation of Civil 3D corridor layouts;

 Track software licenses, implement upgrades as needed;

 Develop manuals and instructions that are easy to understand;

 Coordinate with our IT Department to deploy on-going software updates for AutoCAD and Civil 3D;

 Develop Civil 3D tools and refinements to facilitate CAD production companywide;

 Plan sheet production using Civil 3D and AutoCAD for projects companywide;

 Employ Civil 3D to develop complete corridor models and utility networks;

 Under the supervision of a Professional Engineer, develop bid documents inclusive of plans,

specs, and estimates.

Minimum Job Qualifications

 Ability to lead and mentor CAD team members;

 8 years of experience using AutoDesk’s AutoCAD & Civil 3D software platforms (MicroStation a

plus);

 Prior experience focused in the field of Civil Engineering;

 2- year Civil Engineering Technician Associates Degree from an accredited institution of higher

learning or equivalent experience;

 Proficient with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, & Outlook).

 Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;

 Highly organized and detail oriented;

 Excellent resource management and planning skills;

 Ability to work with varied and diverse teams across multiple offices;

 Confidently manage fluid work schedules and team assignments.

Additional Experience a Plus

 Prior management experience either in, or out, of your CAD profession;

 Experience using and ability to deploy current AutoDesk software platform;

 Roundabout design in conjunction with Civil 3D Vehicle Tracking;

 Rendering & animation of Civil 3D corridor layouts;

 Prior employment with or Counties, Cities within Washington State, or WSDOT;

 Preparing project specifications using WSDOT’s “PSE Spec Compiler”;

 Developing CAD production scope and fee proposals;

 Experience with Microsoft Project and/or Access;

 Experience with Adobe Creative Suite;

 Field or office surveying experience in the development of topographic maps;
