Job Description
Orion Talent, the nation’s largest military recruiting firm, is currently recruiting transitioning or former military professionals for Buyer positions with an environmentally focused company serving its global customers in over 50 different industries and applications.
Interviews for the Buyer position will be held in Redmond, WA on July 29.
Position Details
Location: Redmond, WA
Pay: $50K to $70K
Position Description
As a Buyer, you will assist in purchasing materials, supplies, and services at the most favorable terms for the organization, qualifying vendors, evaluating bids, and negotiating prices and terms for purchased goods and services. You will track purchases, monitor vendor quality, and maintain a current database of vendor information. Responsibilities will include:
  • Maintain supplier database, purchase records, and related documentation.
  • Regularly complete and oversee procurement processes, operational plans, RFQs, RFPs, negotiations, and cost analysis.
  • Create Bid Analyses, prepare purchase orders, and negotiate prices to ensure good procurement processes.
  • Overall, perform a variety of purchasing and procurement tasks, sourcing, vendor/supplier selection, purchase order processing.
  • Monitor and manage purchase orders, delivery schedules, order deliveries, backorders, missed or late deliveries, shortages, and problem resolution.
  • Support aerospace / AS9100 Quality Management System requirements, processes, and procedures.
  • Coordinate, collaborate, and communicate with Project Managers, vendors, and suppliers as needed.
  • Monitor, track, and report status of material, deliveries, purchases, etc.
  • Perform annual supplier audits.
Position Requirements
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet specific goals and deadlines.
  • Must be dependable, consistently at work and on time, able to follow instructions, respond to management direction, and solicit feedback to improve performance.
  • Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Word and Excel.
  • Must have a keen eye for detail and strong organizational skills.
  • 3+ years of experience in purchasing, procurement, sourcing, vendor/supplier relations, and purchase orders preferably with a manufacturing or construction company.
  • Must be able to prioritize multiple tasks while meeting multiple deadlines.
  • Ability to develop key supplier relationships.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multitasking environment and work constructively under pressure.
  • Must have sound negotiating skills, proven ability to communicate effectively and professionally both verbally and written form.
  • Associate degree preferred.
