Position Summary
Under the direction of the Sr. Business Manager, the Business Manager I is responsible for financial operations and monthly budgets for grants at the Mile Square Health Centers for the Dental Programs. The Business Manager I will be responsible for preparing and monitoring operation budgets.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Compiles and assembles data; generates and/or prepares administrative reports for the MS Dental sites.
- Develops and/or manages business correspondence as it relates to MS Dental - as directed.
- Assists in budget development and/or strategic fiscal planning preparations for MS Dental sites.
- Assists with personnel functions such as work schedules and assignments.
- Collaborates with and/or serves as a liaison to agencies, administrators, departments, stakeholders, and/or vendors relative to the business and/or fiscal operations of MS Dental and its locations.
- Handles responsible administrative matters for MS Dental functions as delegated.
- Assists in the preparation of MS Dental budgets and exercises control of expenditures on state and contract funds.
- Supervises the maintenance of financial records of MS Dental funds and appropriations.
- Advises the academic staff on matters pertinent to procurement of specialized equipment.
- Responsible for the inventory and purchasing of supplies for stockrooms, storerooms, and service laboratory facilities at MS Dental sites.
- Advises and assists supervisors on budget and other business problems related to MS Dental sites.
- Assist Finance Team in monthly budget monitoring of Dental grants.
- Assists in submissions for reimbursement (TEMS) and purchasing (PCard & TCard) transactions at Mile Square.
- Manage and monitor contract tracking for MS Dental sites.
- Schedule, coordinate, and plan meetings for MS Dental sites.
- Provide administrative duties to the MS Dental team – including schedule updates, time off requests (Kronos), etc.
- Coordinating report submissions for MS Dental grants (i.e. obtaining vouchers, narratives/reports).
- Tracking FTE related to dental grants for personnel at MS Dental sites.
- Assist in the submission, preparation, and approval of grants related to Dental and its subsidiaries.
- Perform other related duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accountancy, business administration, management, or a closely related field.
- 90 semester hours equals two (2) years (24 months)
- 30 semester hours equals one (1) year (12 months)
- 60 semester hours or an Associate’s Degree equals eighteen months (18 months)
- Three (3) years (36 months) of work experience in accounting, business administration, fiscal management, or closely related experience.
- A combination of such education and/or work experience totaling three (3) years (36 months), as measured by the following conversion table or its proportional equivalent:
- 30 semester hours equals one (1) year (12 months)
- 60 semester hours or an Associate’s Degree equals eighteen months (18 months)
- 90 semester hours equals two (2) years (24 months)
- Bachelor’s degree in accountancy, business administration, management, or a closely related field.
OR- Three (3) years (36 months) of work experience in accounting, business administration, fiscal management, or closely related experience.
OR- A combination of such education and/or work experience totaling three (3) years (36 months), as measured by the following conversion table or its proportional equivalent:
- 30 semester hours equals one (1) year (12 months)
- 60 semester hours or an Associate’s Degree equals eighteen months (18 months)
