Job Description
Overview:
The purpose of this job is to approve and decline small business loan applications submitted for underwriting through the B2B system by retail and commercial lenders in the field.

Responsibilities:
  • Decision and document application packages for approval, denial, or condition
  • Review packages for compliance with bank policy (desirability of credit, purpose, terms, collateral, financial statements)
  • Perform analysis for credit decisions (debt to income, debt service coverage ratio, loan to value, etc.)
  • Assist BLC Manager as needed
  • Review application packages for credit score, quality of personal credit bureau, quality of financial information provided, proper debt coverage/cash flow, collateral, and financial ratios
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications:
  • Minimum four-year college degree
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Minimum five years lending experience or underwriting experience in a centralized environment
  • Negotiation skills
  • Computer skills
  • Advanced understanding of small business and the inherent risks and opportunities associated with varying industry types
  • Advanced knowledge of regulatory compliance procedures regarding small business lending
  • Advanced knowledge of small business and commercial lending process
  • Advanced knowledge of credit analysis techniques
Preferred:
  • Banking School (optional
