The Arizona Department of Revenue is looking for a Business Intelligence Developer (ETL )to utilize their advanced skills to support and improve complex data warehousing and reporting operations. This position will be responsible for designing, coding, and documenting ETL interfaces, as well as creating reports using Business Intelligence Reporting tools, such as COGNOS, SSRS, and PowerBI.

Additionally, this role will engage in programming tasks, including the creation of database objects, unit and integration testing, and verification of programming logic. The ETL Developer will assist Quality Assurance and User Acceptance Test Teams in resolving application-related issues during testing, and develop comprehensive online help systems, user manuals, and training manuals, as needed.

Job Duties:
Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Work with management and project management offices to develop and maintain project objectives and plans
  • Identify technologies that support the system development goals
  • Design, develop, and maintain ETL processes and Business Intelligence reports
  • Perform unit and integration testing to ensure business requirements are met and programming logic executes as expected
  • Work closely with business analysts and/or users to determine requirements and receive feedback, and provide support and training to users during user testing
  • Plan, manage, and provide project status following the adopted agency’s Software Development Life-Cycle (SDL) from inception to implementation
  • Work as a Senior Developer to include, where applicable, programming and design of overall system architecture
  • Organize and participate in team project meetings, to include weekly status reports during all project phases, business requirements gathering and reviews, design reviews, and test conditions reviews
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):
Knowledge of:
  • Release and configuration management
  • Azure DevOps, preferred
  • XML, XML schemas, and extracting data from complex XMLs
  • Extract, Transform, and Load methodologies

Skilled in:
  • N-tier object oriented client/server applications
  • Pragmatic Works, BIXpress, BIDocumentor, and Task Factory
  • Microsoft Visual Studio and .NET technologies
  • Developing and writing effective technical documentation
  • Developing SSIS ETL software and SSRS reports

Ability to:
  • Lead, motivate, and coordinate team members to meet business expectations
  • Develop client/service strategies
  • Manage time-boxed Production Support defect releases
  • Research and analyze information
  • Bring projects to completion, on time and within budget using the System Design Life Cycle and the established Project Management methodologies
  • Effectively communicate, orally and in writing
Requirements and Selective Preference(s):
  • REQUIREMENT: Bachelor’s Degree and 8+ years of related experience, or equivalent combination of experience
  • PREFERENCE: Additional experience with Cognos and Azsure DevOps
