Job Description

CNO Financial Group is hiring a Business Intelligence Consultant to provide ownership for Business Intelligence Reporting and Analytics, by identifying opportunities to streamline, automate and consolidate Business Intelligence delivery. The role will develop and assist in the development of complex BI visualizations and analytics.


This is your opportunity to provide and assist business developers to develop a deep understanding of the data, its use, governance, security and the structure of reports and dashboards.

As a Business Intelligent Consultant, your responsibilities will include:

  • Use SQL and Python to bring in and structure data as needed from various business applications across the company to use in reporting efforts.
  • Design, develop and test new processes.
  • Supports other administrative functions and complex ad hoc requests as needed to support the business.
  • Develop and implement data analyses, data collection systems and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality.
  • Perform and document data analysis, data validation, and data mapping/design.
  • Partner with business in the evaluation and implementation of new BI and analytical tools.
  • Supports and administers weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual dashboards and reports.
  • Act as a data steward for the respective business unit assigned.
  • Develop reporting capabilities across our analytical tool sets and data management tools (e.g., Denodo, Tableau, Power BI, Alteryx, SAS, etc.).
  • Understand and apply continuous improvement processes, policies, and procedures and internal control standards to ensure accurate reporting.
  • Collaborate with internal customers to design, develop, manage dashboard & reports in Tableau and Power BI, fed by data from logical & physical data warehouses.


The Business Intelligence Consultant position is well-suited for you if you:

  • Possess solid knowledge of and experience with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Alteryx, etc.), databases (SQL etc.), programming (XML, JavaScript, or ETL frameworks).
  • Possess the ability to learn and apply new technologies.
  • Are an effective communicator with an outstanding customer focus.
  • Have a strong attention to detail and proven ability to successfully multi-task.
  • Are results focused to achieve deadlines.
  • Are a strong, independent critical thinker with the ability to effectively manage midsized to large/complex report development projects.
  • Work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Can stay abreast of changes in reporting / analytic tools and techniques to grow and expand knowledge and capabilities.


What you’ll need:

  • Advanced technical skills including Excel, Access, Power Point, Word, Business Objects or similar tool, R or SAS, Tableau, Power BI, Alteryx or similar tools.
  • Bachelors’ degree in Business, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Programming or other quantitative discipline or equivalent.
  • Five years of data analysis experience in Insurance, Financial Services or Operations Consulting role.


What will set you a part:

  • Insurance experience with group or worksite sales preferred but not required.


This role is full time work from home (WFH), also known as Remote. This role can be performed from any US based location within the central or eastern time zone. Work cannot be performed from outside of the United States.

Associates who live within a 60-mile radius of a corporate office (Birmingham, Carmel, Chicago, Philadelphia, Orlando and Milwaukee) have access to come into that Office up to 2 days/week, and are encouraged to come into the office at least twice per month.
