Job Description

Position Overview:

This senior position will work closely with the EVP of Strategic Partnerships to define and execute Dense Air’s go-to-market strategy with real estate developers and universities. Strategic, public-private partnerships (P3s) are a core part of Dense Air’s value proposition of using next-generation radio access technologies to address pain points for municipalities and mobile network operators by accelerating the equitable and economical deployment of high-quality 5G networks. Dense Air seeks to work hand-in-hand with developers and universities to identify and sustainably address connectivity and smart city agendas in return for receiving access to assets to commercialize wireless networks. More detail on this strategic vision for P3s can be found in this white paper published by the Community Wireless Coalition, co-founded by Dense Air’s parent company, Sidewalk Infrastructure Partners (SIP). This role requires the ability to lead all aspects of partnerships with municipalities and regulated utilities, aligning their needs and complexities with Dense Air and CoFi’s commercial imperatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the maintenance of quality and targeted profitability on projects and assist staff in ensuring our projects are executed with high efficiency and technical excellence.
  • Support building and maintaining a network of key contacts and influential relationships with real estate developers.
  • Prepare and/or guide proposals in response to RFI/RFP/RFQs.
  • Support the development of developer and university pipelines by refining and implementing a set of qualifying criteria, working with Dense Air’s data scientists to understand the overlay between available assets and mobile network weak spots.
  • Under the direction of the EVP of Strategic Partnerships, define and execute Dense Air’s partnership strategy with real estate developers and universities.
  • Lead Dense Air’s business development efforts with developers and universities, focusing on strategic growth through contracts and other partnerships.
  • Maintain and enhance relationships with current partners to ensure high-quality and compliant services, projects, and other contractual deliverables are being delivered.
  • Support building and maintaining a network of key contacts and influential relationships within university development and technology offices.
  • Work with the Dense Air Business Development team to build partnerships with other private stakeholders in the real estate business.
  • Add to the Dense Air brand as a trusted partner for cities and thought leader in telecom public-private partnerships through public speaking engagements, press engagement, industry events, and publishing white papers/op-eds.

Education and Experience:

  • Critical for this role is the demonstrated ability to interact with real estate and university executives.
  • Proven and strong experience in operations management, and pipeline development/management, for public and private sector clients.
  • At least 5 years of relevant business development, proposal management, and partnership experience in the real estate or university sectors partnering with the public sector, ideally within telecom. However, a lack of telecom experience is not disqualifying.
  • Experience with a start-up a plus.
  • Proven experience with innovation partnerships.
  • MBA or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Proven experience in comprehensive, advanced negotiation and closing skills.

Personal Qualities:

  • Delivery and results-focused, able to thrive in an extremely fast-paced, challenging environment.
  • Ability to write clear, concise, and creative content.
  • Solid professional relationships with strategic clients and teaming partners a plus.
  • Willingness to develop excellent communication skills and build an understanding of the infrastructure sector, smart cities, utilities, and asset management.
  • Solid client engagement experience, including business development, related to direct meetings, strategy projects, and industry associations.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills, including strong presentation skills. Solid ability to interface, inspire and motivate at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to multi-task and deal with global stakeholders (US/UK).
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across all divisions within the company, focusing on driving a positive corporate culture.
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion:

Dense Air is committed to providing an environment of mutual respect where equal employment opportunities are available to all applicants and employees regardless of race, color, religion, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, genetics, pregnancy, disability, age, veteran status, and any other characteristic protected by applicable law.
