Description
SAIC is seeking a Business Analyst (BA) who will work closely with the customer on their data migration to the cloud. Content will be migrated from Oracle’s Business Objects and SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) to Microsoft’s cloud-hosted Power BI Service environment. The success of the migration will be largely tied to the efforts of the Business Analyst, who will coordinate and document the stages of the migration while ensuring efforts are completed within the agreed upon timelines, leveraging Agile best practices along the way. Firsthand experience is key in working with these applications: Power BI Service, Power BI Desktop, Power Query, Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power BI Report Builder. Responsibilities:

• Update, implement, and maintain procedures
• Work closely with the customer understanding, documenting, and fulfilling their reporting requirements
• Monitoring deliverables and ensuring timely completion of projects
• Anticipate, identify, track, and resolve technical issues and risks affecting delivery
• Perform detailed estimations for the time and effort to complete aspects of the project
• Actively engage in business stakeholder requirements gathering sessions to understand, interpret and translate requirements, document user stories, and design an effective end-to-end technical solution
• Execute user acceptance testing
• Develop, implement, and support solutions curated and deployed with Power BI
• Be able to capture both functional and non-functional requirements
• Work closely with customers, technicians and developers, and management/leadership members through the project’s completion
• Develop optimized strategies for migrating legacy reports from SSRS and Business Objects to the Power BI Service
• Core functional aspects of these efforts will include: connecting to various data sources, transforming data using Power Query, ensuring the data is modeled properly and creating a highly visual and highly intuitive experience for end users
• Educate and train business stakeholders on deployed solutions by establishing knowledge base articles and user guides, hosting live training sessions, and other methods to ensure successful adoption by the business groups
• Publishing reports to the Power BI service, managing them through distribution of apps, establishing the needed authentications, and scheduling an automated refresh schedule

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:

• Demonstrated excellence in analytical thinking and problem solving
• Bachelor’s Degree in business or related field and 5 (five) years' experience required.
• The ability to learn new skills and concepts quickly
• Excellence in planning, organizational, and time management skills
• Strong communicator with demonstrated experience working closely with customers on requirements and execution
• A track record of following through on commitments
• Experience with Agile and user story documentation skills
• Any amount of experience with migration of reports from legacy platforms, with an emphasis on Oracle’s Business Objects and SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)
• Experience working with other aspects of Microsoft’s Power Platform and Office 365 suite – Power Apps, Power Automate, Excel, OneNote, Planner, etc.
• Experience working directly with Power BI, Oracle’s Business Objects, SSRS or similar reporting platforms - Tableau, Cognos, etc.

Desired Qualifications:

• Direct experience migrating legacy reports to the Power BI Service environment
• Experience with Business Objects or SSRS
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and working in a sprint delivery model

Target salary range: $75,001 - $100,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
