Business Analyst Jobs

Seeking an experienced Business Analyst to assist with ongoing projects.

Role: Senior Business Analyst

Duration: 24+ months

Job Location: Torrance, CA

Contract: OnlyW2 contracts, NO Corp to Corp applicants

Responsibilities

• Work in a product (scrum) team, complete business and some technical analysis supporting key initiatives build business cases, recommend and implement business processes and/or system solutions, gather and document user stories & acceptance criteria, lead or contribute to ideation sessions, conduct UAT, support release management at all stages, provide user support, create and run reports/dashboards, prepare and deliver user training, and develop communication materials for a variety of stakeholders.

Communications & Working Relationships

• No development of production code. However, working knowledge of T-SQL (scripting for running on SQL Server) is required.
• Provide status to Project Manager/Lead, as needed.
• Coordination with businesses and developers during all phases of the development lifecycle.
• BA may be asked to develop scripts, based on process flow charts, to prototype batch business processes prior to development.
• Analysis/Design is roughly 30-40%, Development (code, unit test, int test, system test, UAT, Implement, Warranty) approximately 60-70%.
• Assigned to units of work, varies from enhancements to team members on a large project.
• Responsible for gathering requirements, functional and detailed analysis/design, testing (unit, integration, system, user acceptance), implementation, documentation, and warranty.

Role

• Assists in the business process redesign and documentation as needed for new technology
• Works with business partners within one business function to align technology solutions with business strategies.
• Supports several moderately complex business processes.
• Analyzes business partners' operations to understand their strengths and weaknesses to determine opportunities to automate processes and functions.
• Translates high-level business requirements into functional specifications for the IT organization and manages changes to such specifications.
• Conducts feasibility studies to assess cost/benefit, efficiency, and technical viability of solutions to business problems
• Negotiates agreements and commitments by facilitating communication between business unit(s) and IT from initial requirements to final implementation.
• Assumes the Project Manager's responsibilities in preparing and facilitating the project plan for smaller projects.
• Assists Project Managers in developing project plans and uses associated project planning tools as needed.

The candidate must display the following technical competencies:

• Experience working on Agile or Hybrid Agile methodology
• Experience working in .NET development environment.
• Experience with JIRA
