Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Business Analyst (Business Process Improvement) for University Enrollment Services. Under the supervision of the Sr. Assistant University Director of Information Technology, the incumbent will join a growing team responsible for delivering business-critical analytical assessment of business processes with the stated goal to modernize and streamline them, within the confines of a new vendor software package that can at times be rigid.

- Additional work includes understanding the scope of advanced technical programming activities, including creating ad-hoc SQL queries to identify population driven problems and potential solutions. Functional solution design, user testing, debugging, and coordination of User Acceptance Training (UAT).
- Responsible for partnering with the functional team, documenting their challenges and working with UES & OIT teams to develop technical solutions meant to overcome system limitations.
- Assists in serving as the liaison between OIT and the Financial Aid Office to help maximize effectiveness when designing system processes and reports that meet the business needs of the office and ensures excellent service to our staff and students.

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience
- A minimum of 5 years of experience working with and supporting complex information systems.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
Certifications/Licenses
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- SQL report writing – essential knowledge of SQL to ensure that report writing is both accurate and timely.
- Microsoft Office (Access and Excel) – Reports may be generated using MS Access, and output may need to be manipulated or provided using MS Excel.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a financial aid office.
- Additionally basic understanding of Enterprise Content Management systems (ECM) such as ImageNow is beneficial.
- Working knowledge of programming languages including but not limited to: Groovy, Javascript, XML is also desired. Understanding of UNIX/SSH/Filezilla may also be useful.
- In addition to the basics of MS Excel, knowledge of pivot tables is preferred.
