Qualifications
  • Possess good mechanical skills, troubleshooting skills & general maintenance knowledge. Ability to plan & organize work; capable of working with little or no supervision and ability to communicate with various levels of supervision
  • High School graduate or GED. Some verifiable technical training
Position Summary
  • Possess basic electrical skills to include troubleshooting of small HP
  • Understand and maintain the Fire system in compliance with NFPA standards.
  • Train and participate in the Gaffney HazMat Team.
  • Ensure that repairs are performed in a cost-conscious manner.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
  • Possess good mechanical skills, good troubleshooting skills, good general equipment and Building Maintenance knowledge.
  • Motors and electrical control circuits on facility and support equipment. Must be able to read electrical drawings and schematics for basic AC circuits.
  • Train on SAP and be able to write work notifications and work orders. Be able to prepare a new part stock request. Train and be able to fill out a parts Purchase Requisition.
  • Communicate with various levels of supervision in all departments.
  • Be able to work with contractors.
  • Possess skills in plumbing and small equipment maintenance. Keep bathroom and cafeteria equipment operational.
  • Cross train in Facilities and WWTP Processes. Study and sit for CIRO, Boiler Specialist Level 1 and WWTP level D License within forty-eight (48) months of start date.
  • Ability to maneuver and work in confined spaces, extreme heat, cold, heights and interstitial spaces.
  • Have and demonstrate the capability to do minor professional pipe and valve insulation repairs.
  • Plan and organize work. Complete building maintenance PMs and Work Orders in a timely fashion. Initiate new and update Building Infrastructure and Food Safety PMs. Complete Infrastructure Audits. Prepare information for tracking and trending of Food Safety Work Orders and PMs.
  • Anticipate problems and take appropriate action.
  • Hang signs, boards, banners, etc.
  • Train and certify to operate fork trucks and all in house lifts
  • Capable of working with little or no supervision.
