We think and work like entrepreneurs, always moving and constantly improving. We care about each other, are go-getters, work hard, and play hard. If you're someone who thrives on innovation, wants to help others succeed, knows how to think outside the box, and believes that we're all in this together - you belong here.

HOW THIS ROLE IMPACTS COASTAL

As the BSA Analytics Senior Manager you’ll lead a small team responsible for the analysis and tuning of the Bank’s Anti-Money Laundering (AML) rules, customer risk scoring model, and sanctions screening models to help ensure efficacy and certain technology functions of the Bank’s BSA program. This role works closely with the Deputy BSA Officer to identify, report, and remediate potential issues.

This includes testing of rules, customer risk scoring, sanctions screening settings, and quantitative and qualitative analysis, including above-the-line and below-the-line testing. In this role, you’ll perform data analysis on subsets of data to identify anomalies, data quality gaps, and trends in customer behavior or risk. This role may also conduct data adequacy and quality reviews.

The BSA Analytics Senior Manager oversees and maintains technology systems used for suspicious activity monitoring, list screening, and customer risk scoring. This includes day-to-day system operations, input and output review, and quality checks.

HOW YOU’LL DO IT

  • Provide internal and external service following Coastal Core Values.
  • Work with Senior BSA Management to define specifications for transaction monitoring, customer risk scoring, and sanctions screening models.
  • Use advanced statistical techniques in SAS such as clustering and regression analysis, trend analysis, outlier identification, and results visualization.
  • Lead analysis of suspicious activity monitoring, customer risk scoring, and sanctions list screening thresholds, parameters, and settings.
  • Employ project management skills such as collecting requirements, following up with all stakeholders, issue tracking and resolution, results presentation, and validation.
  • Conduct reviews of data utilized across different BSA functions for quality and completeness.
  • Develop data-driven insights and communicate effectively with all stakeholders.
  • Participate in the maintenance, operations, and oversight of suspicious activity monitoring, list screening, and customer risk scoring systems.
  • Conduct analysis of data to identify trends, anomalies, and outliers.
  • Lead and develop a team of highly motivated, results-oriented individuals through effective leadership practices.
  • Develop, maintain, and oversee adherence to a rule analysis schedule.
  • Work with Senior BSA Management to set an appropriate technology and data strategy with other bank departments.
  • Assist with developing and maintaining suspicious activity monitoring, list screening, and customer risk scoring system reporting, including rule performance and customer risk levels.
  • Make recommendations for new rules based on rule analysis.
  • Assist with responding to model validation, audit, and regulatory examination questions.
  • Make recommendations for adjustments to thresholds, parameters, and settings based on the analysis.
  • Utilize visualization techniques to showcase the analysis results in presentations, including capacity analysis, tuning analysis, and transaction and customer analysis.
