Job Description

Position Title: Brewer
Department: Brewing
Location: Tualatin Brewery
Supervisory Responsibilities: No
Reports to: Brewing Manager
Worker Category: Full Time
FLSA Classification: Non-exempt

Position Summary:
This position efficiently carries out all brewing operations. The Brewer will work closely with the Brewing Manager and team to help facilitate daily brewing tasks and keep the brewhouse clean and organized.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Lift and pour sugar
  • Ensure that GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices) are followed at all times
  • Gather data, compile information, and prepare reports
  • Correctly and accurately pour hot and ambient water
  • Follow all food safety directives
  • Work with brewing manager to ensure the production schedule is followed
  • Ensure all batches are weighed correctly and brewing SOPs are followed
  • Mix tea and herbs based on Brew Dr. formulations
  • Connect valves and hoses to correct tanks
  • Work with brewing manager to monitor ingredient inventories
  • Move pallets of ingredients and other supplies with a pallet jack or forklift
  • Clean out brewing and fermentation tanks
  • General cleaning, organizing, and taking out the garbage

Qualifications and Experience:
  • Ability to effectively communicate in a highly diverse multicultural environment
  • Willingness to have a flexible work schedule
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and time-management skills
  • Ability and willingness to work independently and as part of a team

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift up to 60 pounds repeatedly
  • Ability to stand for an extended period, bend, climb, and perform repetitive hand motions

Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this position, the worker may be exposed to inside environmental conditions, hot fluids, pressurized vessels and transfer lines, strong odors, chemicals, noise levels above 85 decibels, confined spaces, refrigerated gases, powered industrial trucks, and moving machinery.
