Situated within the Corporate Affairs function, and reporting to the Senior Brands Communication Manager for Global Food Group, the Associate Manager of Global Brand Communications is responsibilities for proactively identifying global brand communications narratives; brand stewardship of iconic foods brands (Lay’s Doritos and Quaker); and PepsiCo global markets around the world to execute global programs.
You will be responsible for executing fully integrated communications & media programs that dovetail with brand marketing initiatives and are aligned with PepsiCo's overarching corporate strategy. In addition, you will work with stakeholders and business partners on risk mitigation strategies, counseling partners on potential risks to the business and corporate reputation of PepsiCo’s foods brands, as well as weighing in on ways to alter paid, earned, and social materials to prevent or lessen risk. This role is both proactive and reactive, but the overwhelming focus is on consumer engagement and stakeholder management.
This is a hybrid role based in our Purchase, NY office.

Responsibilities

  • Develop forward-thinking strategies and collaboration, lifting & shifting successful brand PR programs from one region into multiple
  • Manage relations with PR and digital agencies and other partners to execute programs flawlessly:
  • Evaluate and measure PR execution with clear KPIs and metrics
  • Provide counsel on risk mitigation and crisis communications for global, regional and local brand efforts
  • Oversee & lead execution on all global foods plans for all brand campaigns.
  • Ensure execution of the proposed plans
  • Closely collaborate with global, regional and local brand communicators, marketers, digital and corporate communications for a truly integrated brand marketing strategic approach
  • Assess agencies proposals
  • Focus on identifying and generating strong consumer-facing press coverage that crosses geographies and international press hubs for some of PepsiCo’s most iconic brands across foods portfolio including Lay’s Quaker and Doritos
  • Review and edit all brand PR media and communication material.
  • Integrate purpose into brand campaigns and initiate partnerships to ensure success in line with brand identity.
  • Providing them with campaign briefs
  • Leverage non-traditional, out-of-the-box thinking and approach to craft impactful earned media campaigns
Compensation & Benefits:
• The expected compensation range for this position is between $81,000 - $135,600• Location, confirmed job-related skills and experience will be considered in setting actual starting salary• Bonus based on performance and eligibility target payout is 10% of annual salary paid out annually• Paid time off subject to eligibility, including paid parental leave, vacation, sick, and bereavement• In addition to salary, PepsiCo offers a comprehensive benefits package to support our employees and their families, subject to elections and eligibility: Medical, Dental, Vision, Disability, Health and Dependent Care Reimbursement Accounts, Employee Assistance Program (EAP), Insurance (Accident, Group Legal, Life), Defined Contribution Retirement Plan

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree required (communications or relevant degree preferred)
  • International travel required
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • 5+ years of experience in communications or PR
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with issues / crisis management
  • Public relations skills, including the experience and confidence to drive coverage and ability to build a narrative and earned media programs around a brand
  • Experience in core entertainment, lifestyle, sports, gaming, celebrity, technology and crisis communications a plus
  • Great judgment, perception and ability to ascertain a situation quickly and effectively
  • Public relations agency experience (preferred but not required)
  • Flexibility and open-mindedness to changes in direction and the addition of new assignments
  • Internal communications experience a plus
  • Grace under pressure and a comfort level in dealing with senior executives in intense situations
  • Awareness of the challenges facing global food and beverage companies
  • Strong understanding of regional and national media around the world; International consumer media experience a plus
  • Solid experience using digital and social media as a lead and integrated element in generating press coverage
